Using fx-portal to transfer your assets from Ethereum to Polygon and vice versa then we recommend you to use the maticjs-fxportal sdk, it is basically a FxPortal bridge plugin for maticjs and it provides FxPortalClient to interact with fxportal bridge. (link to doc).
In other general use cases, when you want to interact with any smart contract deployed on any chain we'd recommend you to either use ethersjs or web3js.
